How long does it take artificial grass to settle?
After the artificial grass is installed it usually takes around 6 to 8 weeks for the fake grass to fully bed itself in.
Can weeds grow through artificial grass?
If artificial grass is not installed properly and there are gaps at the edges or joins, weeds can grow through. When it is installed correctly, on a compacted base with a weed membrane underneath and the edges pinned and jointed, weeds cannot take hold. We install every lawn this way.
How much does artificial grass cost in Dublin? The price depends on the size of the area, how much preparation the ground needs and the grade of grass you choose. As a rough guide only, artificial grass supplied and installed in the current Dublin market typically falls in the region of 50 to 90 euro per square metre, including excavation, a compacted base, membrane and edging. How is artificial grass installed? We remove the existing turf, excavate to around 75 mm, lay and compact a free-draining hardcore base, add a fine grit blinding layer, fit a weed membrane, then roll out and join the grass, pin the edges and brush in kiln-dried sand to keep the pile upright and the lawn in place. A typical back garden takes one to two days.
Is artificial grass good for dogs and children? Yes. Modern artificial grass is soft, non-toxic and drains quickly, so it does not get muddy or waterlogged. Pet urine rinses straight through the backing, and it is ideal for play areas, side passages and shaded gardens where real grass struggles.
