Patio materials we install: porcelain paving (frost-proof, non-slip, stain-resistant and available in large-format slabs in stone, wood and concrete effects); natural stone patios in Indian sandstone, silver and black granite, limestone and slate; resin bound patios for a seamless, permeable, weed-free finish that flows into paths and pool surrounds; and block-paved patios to match an existing driveway. We also build the steps, raised beds, retaining walls, drainage channels and lighting that turn a slab of paving into a finished garden.
How we build a patio that lasts: we excavate to the correct depth, lay and compact a Type 3 or 804 hardcore sub-base, set the falls so rainwater runs away from the house, bed every slab on a full mortar or slurry-primed bed rather than spots, and finish with a proper jointing compound so weeds and ants cannot get in. It is the base and the bedding, not the slab, that decide whether a patio still looks right in ten years, which is why every patio we lay carries our 5-year guarantee.

Which patio material is best for Irish weather? Porcelain paving is our most popular patio choice because it is frost-proof, non-slip, does not stain and never needs sealing. Natural stone such as granite, sandstone and limestone gives a warmer, more traditional look and lasts a lifetime with occasional sealing. Resin bound is ideal for seamless, permeable patios and pool surrounds with no joints for weeds. Block paving is a durable, cost-effective option that matches a block-paved driveway. We bring samples so you can compare them in your own garden.
How much does a patio cost in Dublin? Every patio is priced after a site visit because the size, the ground conditions, the amount of excavation, steps, walls and drainage, and the material you choose all affect the price. As a rough guide only, a supplied-and-laid patio in the Dublin market typically falls in the region of 90 to 150 euro per square metre for porcelain or natural stone, and less for block paving. Larger patios cost less per square metre.
Do I need planning permission for a patio in Ireland? Normally not. A patio at ground level in a private garden is exempt development, provided it does not reduce the private open space behind the house below 25 square metres. We will flag anything unusual at the site visit.
How long does a patio take to install? Most patios are completed in three to five days, including excavation, a compacted sub-base, drainage and pointing. Is your patio work guaranteed? Yes. Every patio we build comes with a full 5-year guarantee as standard.
